It’s been a busy summer for us here at Tonic towers – working on some fantastic campaigns for our lovely clients. And while we’ve been busy bees getting results for them, our own news has been a little neglected. So, here’s a brief round-up of what’s been keeping us out of mischief…
The region’s biggest bus operator, Go North East, launched its Big Days Out campaign on Friday 21st July. Running the entirety of the school holidays, the family-focused campaign offers discounted travel and money-off top North East destinations, all while growing passenger numbers on its buses.
Big Days Out is going down a storm with North Easterners and has helped increase passenger numbers by over a third, compared to the same period last year. We’re proud to be part of the creative team behind the campaign.
With more Brits travelling on the UK’s roads this year, we helped Vision Express raise the profile of its staycation campaign while driving home the message of ensuring eyes are roadworthy. The national optical retailer in partnership with road charity, Brake, commissioned research exploring how people from across the nation would be journeying to their holiday destinations, where they would be going and what they prioritised when preparing for a long drive.
Vision Express also visited five high footfall Welcome Break service stations during peak summer holiday season in July, offering free eye screenings for drivers.
The campaign, which is ongoing until the end of August, has seen enviable media results with in-depth case studies being profiled in key media and expert commentary by Vision Express’ eye health experts. Online eye test bookings have also sharply risen.
Global one-to-one marketing specialist, Clicksco Group, announced it joined forces with Durham University at the start of the summer, in a unique Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) which aims to create innovative tools to better understand customer behaviour in the digital marketing sector.
The first-of-its-kind, the KTP will combine big data and mathematical expertise in a bid to develop cutting-edge technology.
We worked with Clicksco’s team in Middlesbrough, to share the industry-leading news to the digital marketing and technology press, while keeping the regional media abreast of developments.
While the hot weather may not have been as evenly distributed around the UK as we would have liked (our Nottingham HQ team have definitely enjoyed warmer climes!) for our client Seeley International, keeping temperatures regulated has been high on its news agenda.
We’ve helped the leading manufacturer of air conditioning and ducted gas heating, raise the profile of its innovative cooling system, Breezair, to the facilities management, food production and warehousing sectors.
