From our Newcastle PR division over the past few months we’ve been proud to support the Business & IP Centre Newcastle. An ERDF-funded project, it is based out of Newcastle city library and supported by Newcastle City Council, Newcastle Science City, Northumbria University and the British Library.
Established to provide advice and support to North East inventors, entrepreneurs and fledging SMEs, the Centre has become well-renowned across the region for helping business to research, develop and commercialise their ideas.
Appointed in May, our focus has been on delivering key communications milestones for the Centre. These have included writing the copy for the BIPC’s new website which launched this week, developing case studies for marketing and media purposes and announcing the Centre’s ongoing initiatives.
We’re currently busy supporting Innovation Elevator; an intensive two day workshop delivered by partners of the Centre. Hosted from Sunderland Software Centre on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd October, the master class covers key topics including marketing, sales, IP and finance and every participant is expected to leave feeling better equipped to nurture and grow their business.
Following the announcement of the Innovation Elevator last week, there has been great interest in the free event, fuelled by coverage we’ve achieved across local media including The Journal, Northern Echo and The Advertiser and via all partners pushing the event through their social channels.
As a start-up ourselves, the knowledge gained working with the BIPC over the past four months has been invaluable.
Next stop… global domination?
