At our PR agency, delivering results is what drives us every day. But what gets us up in the morning? Agency co-founders Georgina and Kelly set up The Tonic after working for more than 20 years apiece for leading UK and international agencies.

We know PR can be a demanding lark, but is work hard/play harder and a win-at-all-costs mentality the right environment to get good work done? We thought not.

So, The Tonic was formed, with the aim to work with brands and businesses looking for a PR partner that is transparent, committed and delivers. Crucially, we wanted to work with organisations that are making a positive difference to the world we live in.

That’s quite broad. So, we narrowed it down slightly, to:

Companies and brands that are making the world a better place, through ethical health and wellbeing solutions, responsible leisure and retail and sustainable transport and travel.

Ethical is key here. We treat our team, clients, suppliers and others with fairness and honesty, and we hope they return the favour.

We sell time (and expertise) to our clients, so it’s crucial we instill efficiency in all areas of our work. We track time and budgets diligently. We don’t dawdle. Because being efficient means results are at the very heart of what we do.

Is accountable

We can be relied upon as trusted PR consultants. We don’t deal in ‘smoke and mirrors’. We value transparency in all of our work and own our actions. We raise hands, not point fingers. We are honest in all of our dealings with clients and colleagues. We don’t deflect.

Georgina Phillips

Georgina is a seasoned PR professional with experience spanning B2B and B2C communications. She has worked with brands including Skoda UK, Hilton Hotels, the Go Ahead Group, Barclaycard and the Army.

Georgina has managed communications for small, disruptive firms and larger integrated agencies across the UK.

This equipped her with a sound understanding what makes good PR and how to deliver true ROI.

Georgina proved her value in agencies at senior director level, leading and inspiring teams and overseeing client strategies before co-founding The Tonic in 2013.

Kelly Marshall-Hill

A trained journalist, Kelly began her career at one of the UK’s largest universities, before heading into agency land with globally-renowned Porter Novelli. Here, Kelly gained an impressive client list including PepsiCo, Diageo, Frucor Beverages, P&O Cruises, Wrigley’s, Visa and 3 mobile. The agency’s sponsorship specialist, she worked with brands to maximise return for high profile endorsements. This included Visa’s FIFA and Rugby World Cup sponsorships, plus 3 mobile’s music, TV and sporting partnerships (Rihanna and Chris Brown tour, Project Runway, & MTV).

Back on home soil, Kelly held management roles in two UK agencies before co-founding The Tonic.
