PR Week ranks The Tonic Top 40 healthcare agency

A Nottingham PR and content agency marking eight years in business has been highlighted as the best consultancy in the Midlands for its healthcare expertise.

The Tonic Communications – head-quartered in the Lace Market since it was founded in 2013 – is named by industry bible, PR Week, in the Top 40 agencies for the health sector.

It is among just a handful of consultancies based outside of London to be represented in the 2020 healthcare rankings. The listings also recognise The Tonic in the Top 50 UK PR agencies with a HQ not in the capital.

The Tonic has delivered high profile campaigns for a raft of healthcare clients. These include

  • national optician Vision Express,
  • home health check service Medichecks,
  • Connect Health, the largest independent provider of community musculoskeletal (MSK) and pain services in the UK
  • Memory Health, a dietary supplement to delay Alzheimer’s Disease
  • a charity called Astriid helping chronically ill people and carers find meaningful work.

The national agency was founded by Kelly Marshall-Hill and Georgina Phillips. It has a base in Newcastle too.

Kelly Marshall-Hill said: “It’s particularly special that we’ve never submitted our agency to these rankings previously. Not because we’re reluctant to be judged against our peers. It’s simply that we’ve always held the firm belief that our clients should be centre stage. That means focusing all of our efforts on them, rather than us – and this will always hold true.

But it’s important to recognise the efforts of our team, and also the clients we have in the healthcare sector that have trusted The Tonic to deliver some impactful and important activity.
